Senator Andrew Uchendu, who previously represented Rivers East Senatorial District, has advised the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, to concentrate on his ministerial responsibilities instead of getting involved in the political affairs of Rivers State.
Uchendu’s remarks come in the wake of recent arson attacks in some local government areas in Rivers State and the escalating tensions between Governor Siminalayi Fubara and Wike. As a leader within the All Progressives Congress (APC), Uchendu revealed that he had stepped in to mediate the ongoing political crisis, urging Wike to focus on his duties in Abuja and allow Governor Fubara to effectively serve his tenure.
Meanwhile, in Emohua, where council offices were set ablaze, local stakeholders have resolved to move past the incident and focus on the region’s development. David Omereji, Chairman of Emohua LGA, assured the public of his commitment to equitable development and expressed confidence in Governor Fubara’s leadership to navigate the state through these challenging times.
The meeting in Emohua was followed by the inauguration of the Legislative Assembly, where Precious Ada-George, a female councillor, was elected as the Leader of the House.
