The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Dr. Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, has condemned the deadly attack on the Nganzai Divisional Police Headquarters in Borno State. The explosion, which occurred in the early hours of January 9, 2025, claimed the lives of two officers, Inspector Bartholomew Kalawa and Corporal Mustapha Huzaifat.

In a decisive move, the IGP has ordered an immediate clampdown on the perpetrators, vowing that no cop-killer will escape justice. He also expressed his heartfelt condolences to the families of the fallen officers, assuring them that their sacrifices will not be forgotten. “Their entitlements and benefits will be promptly provided to their families,” he pledged.

To ensure swift action, the IGP directed the Zone 15 Assistant Inspector-General of Police, AIG Kenechukwu Onwuemelie, fdc., to deploy all necessary resources and work in collaboration with other security agencies to apprehend those responsible.

While investigations are ongoing, the IGP reaffirmed the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to maintaining law and order, stating, “We remain resolute in our mission to bring all those who threaten Nigeria’s peace and security to justice.”
