President Bola Tinubu assured that terrorism, banditry, and kidnapping will soon be eradicated in Northern Nigeria, emphasizing his administration’s unwavering commitment to confronting these issues and other forms of criminality throughout the nation.

Speaking at the 9th convocation ceremony of the Federal University, Dutsinma, in Katsina, Tinubu highlighted the importance of collective effort in tackling insecurity, stating that it is not solely the government’s responsibility.

He urged citizens to actively contribute by providing security operatives with vital information to aid in the fight against crime.

Represented by the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Dutsinma, Prof. Abdulkarim Mohammed, the President also encouraged youth to take advantage of a loan scheme that has disbursed over N70 billion to support their initiatives.

“Governance is not about the presidency or those in places of leadership but about Nigeria and Nigerians, who will make the country better,” he asserted.

“I want to assure all Nigerians that the government is fully committed to combat and defeat all acts of terrorism, kidnapping, banditry, and other criminal activities in Nigeria.

However, security is a collective responsibility.

I urge all Nigerians to join hands with the government by providing relevant information to security agents on suspicious persons, miscreants, and other criminal elements,” he said.

Addressing the graduating students, Tinubu urged them to serve as good ambassadors for both their institution and the country.

Prof. Armaya’u Bichi, Vice Chancellor of Federal University Dutsinma, highlighted the challenges facing the institution, particularly insecurity, which he noted has been a significant issue.

The convocation ceremony celebrated the graduation of 297 postgraduate students, including 18 Ph.D. graduates, 226 with Master’s degrees, and 53 holding professional diplomas and postgraduate diplomas.

Katsina Governor Dikko Umar Radda, represented by Secretary to the State Government Abdullahi Garba Faskari, spoke about the state’s substantial investments in education and ongoing efforts to improve access to quality higher education.
