Nigeria’s para powerlifting team, who delivered an outstanding performance at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, has been rewarded by Peak Milk, the country’s leading dairy brand.

The athletes’ accomplishments have brought pride to the nation, securing four of the seven medals won by Team Nigeria.

Among the victorious athletes were Onyinyechi Mark and Folashade Oluwafemiayo, both of whom claimed gold in their respective weight categories. Mark triumphed in the 61kg category, while Oluwafemiayo dominated the 86kg class.

Esther Nworgu and Bose Omolayo also contributed to the medal tally, winning silver in the 41kg and 79kg categories.

In recognition of their achievements, Peak Milk awarded generous cash prizes to the athletes.

Mark and Oluwafemiayo each received N2 million, while Nworgu and Omolayo were rewarded with N1 million. Other participants in the Paralympic team were also acknowledged, receiving N500,000 each, alongside a variety of Peak Milk products.

Peak Milk’s Marketing Manager, Omolara Banjoko, highlighted the athletes’ dedication and resilience, praising their ability to overcome challenges and deliver exceptional performances on the global stage.

She emphasized that the rewards were a testament to Peak’s commitment to celebrating excellence.

Maureen Ifada, Marketing Director at FrieslandCampina WAMCO, the parent company of Peak, reflected on the long-standing partnership with the Nigerian Para Powerlifting Federation.

Since the launch of the ‘Unstoppables’ campaign in 2016, the collaboration has been aimed at empowering the athletes to break barriers and achieve historic feats.

FrieslandCampina WAMCO’s Managing Director, Roger Philippe, also lauded the athletes, reaffirming Peak’s continued support for the para powerlifting team.

He expressed pride in their accomplishments and noted that Peak’s partnership with the team aligns with the brand’s goal of helping consumers reach their highest potential.

Since 2016, Peak Milk has been the official sponsor of the Nigerian Para Powerlifting Federation, playing a key role in supporting the athletes as they represent the nation on the international stage.
