The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested popular Lagos socialite, Mike Eze Nwalie Nwogu, widely known as Pretty Mike, along with more than 100 individuals during a midnight raid on his nightclub in Victoria Island, Lagos.

According to a statement signed by NDLEA spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, operatives of the agency stormed the Proxy Nightclub, located at 7 Akin Adesola Street, Victoria Island, in the early hours of Sunday, October 26, following credible intelligence about an ongoing drug-themed party at the venue.

The operation, which began late on Saturday, October 25, was reportedly conducted in line with the agency’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

The raid was carried out around 3:00 a.m., leading to the arrest of all party attendees, including the club’s owner, Pretty Mike. All suspects were taken into custody for screening.

During the raid, NDLEA operatives reportedly discovered and seized various illegal substances, including cartons of Loud (a potent strain of cannabis) and canisters of laughing gas (nitrous oxide), both from the party scene and the club’s storage area.

While the agency has not provided full details on the level of involvement of the suspects, it confirmed that the operation was part of a broader crackdown on the use and distribution of illicit drugs in nightlife venues across Lagos.

In a related development, NDLEA officers at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Ikeja, intercepted 70 parcels of cocaine concealed in containers of cocoa butter body cream bound for London, United Kingdom. Three suspects linked to the drug shipment were arrested at the export shed of the airport.

Pretty Mike, known for his flamboyant lifestyle and unconventional public appearances, is expected to remain in NDLEA custody pending the outcome of further investigations.

The agency reiterated its commitment to dismantling drug networks and maintaining vigilance against attempts to use social gatherings and entertainment venues for drug-related activities.
