The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has extended the registration deadline for the 2025 Hajj pilgrimage to February 10, 2025, following appeals from intending pilgrims who were unable to complete their registration before the initial January 31 cutoff.
NAHCON Chairman, Prof. Abdullahi Saleh Usman, announced the extension during a virtual meeting with key Hajj stakeholders on Tuesday night. He urged Executive Secretaries of State Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards to collaborate with the Commission to ensure timely fund transfers, emphasizing that payments were crucial for securing accommodation.
A statement signed by NAHCON’s Assistant Director of Information and Publication, Fatima Usara, highlighted the urgency of early remittances. “It is important to note that Saudi Arabia has set February 14, 2025, as the deadline for contract signings. This means all payments must reach the designated IBAN account in Saudi Arabia before that date to be recognized on the e-track (Nusuk Masar) registration portal. Given the time required for international transfers, early remittance is essential,” the statement read.
Meanwhile, NAHCON’s Commissioner of Operations, Anofiu Elegushi, advised pilgrims who could afford the Hajj fare to proceed with their payments while making arrangements for the $5,000 Basic Travel Allowance (BTA). He noted that some pilgrims had been unable to complete their registration due to a shortfall of just ₦200,000.
The extension offers a final window for prospective pilgrims to finalize their payments and ensure their participation in the 2025 Hajj.
