The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has reaffirmed its commitment to easing traffic congestion through the use of the Whistle app as the festive season brings increased vehicular activity across Lagos.

This innovative platform enables residents to report reckless driving, traffic violations, one-way driving, and other disruptive incidents directly to LASTMA in real time.

The app allows users to alert nearby LASTMA officials about traffic jams, accidents, or hazardous vehicles, ensuring swift intervention to decongest roads, manage accident scenes, or remove obstructions. This initiative aims to create safer and more efficient commuting for all road users.

In a statement, LASTMA spokesperson Adebayo Taofiq called on Lagosians to support the agency’s efforts to improve traffic conditions.

“Let us join forces to alleviate traffic bottlenecks and ensure a smooth and enjoyable festive season for everyone,” he said. “The Whistle app is available for download on the Play Store and provides an opportunity to contribute to safer Lagos roads.”

By leveraging technology and community cooperation, LASTMA hopes to foster a safer and more orderly road network during the holiday season and beyond.
