The All Progressives Congress (APC), announced the formation of key committees for the 2025 Anambra State governorship delegate congress, appointing former Bauchi State Governor, Mohammed Abubakar, as Chairman of the Delegates Congress Committee.

The announcement was made in a statement on Friday by the APC National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Argungu, from the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja.

According to the statement, the Delegates Congress Committee will oversee the election of delegates responsible for selecting the APC’s gubernatorial candidate for the 2025 Anambra elections.

The committee is composed of experienced party members and stakeholders, including Mohammed Abubakar as Chairman, alongside Egogbamu Okoro, Ba’ande Imam, Augustine Agada, Babangida Abdullahi, Umar Hassan Augie, and Dr. Chibuzor Nduaguda.

Additionally, the APC established a Delegates Congress Appeal Committee, headed by Albert Abiodun Adeogun, to handle any grievances or appeals arising from the delegate congress process.

Other members of the appeal committee include Ibrahim Shehu, Yakubu Bello, Abdulkadir Jajeri, and Luka Haruna.

To ensure the smooth conduct of both the congress and appeal processes, the party appointed several key officials to manage the Secretariat.

These officials include Sani Galadima, Owo Onyedikachi, Ahmed Gaidam, Aso Amata Othuke, and Adamu Doma.

The APC has also appointed zonal (senatorial district) coordinators to oversee the delegate congress across the three senatorial zones of Anambra State.

The coordinators for Anambra North are Ukkasha Hamza, Jamilu Bawa, and Prince Dick Darlington.

For Anambra Central, the coordinators are Ogenyi Okpokwu Emmanuel, Nobert A. Sochukwudinma, and Mohammed Musa.

In Anambra South, the coordinators include Abdul-Mutallib Kasim, Cham Paliya Sharon, and Dr. Habib Shehu.

In his remarks on the committee appointments, Argungu highlighted the party’s commitment to a transparent and credible delegate selection process.

He assured the public that the selected party members were experienced and dedicated to ensuring a smooth and orderly process.

“The APC remains committed to upholding internal democracy and ensuring that our party produces the best candidate for the upcoming Anambra gubernatorial election.

The Delegates Congress Committee, under the leadership of His Excellency, Mohammed A. Abubakar, is expected to conduct a seamless exercise in line with the party’s guidelines,” Argungu stated.

He also urged all stakeholders in Anambra State to cooperate with the appointed committees and reassured party members that the entire process would be free, fair, and consistent with the APC’s core principles.
