President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday paid glowing tribute to his wife, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, as she marked her 65th birthday, describing her as his confidant, counsellor, and unwavering anchor through decades of political and personal trials.

The President, in a statement, said the First Lady is more than a spouse, but a partner whose quiet sacrifices have shaped their family and impacted the nation.

“Oluremi, as you celebrate your 65th birthday today, I honour not only the love of my life, but also a woman whose quiet strength and enduring grace have been my steadying anchor,” Tinubu said.

“Through every season, from the long years of struggle and political exile, to leadership responsibilities, you have stood firmly by my side with dignity, patience, and devotion that words can scarcely express. You are more than a wife. You are my confidant, counsellor, and the steady flame illuminating my path.”

The President lauded her compassion, philanthropy, and faith, noting that her role extends beyond their family into national development. “Nigeria owes you more than many will ever know. In every sacrifice you made quietly, in every burden you carried without complaint, you have served this country as surely as I have, not from the podium, but from the heart of our home,” he added.

Tinubu prayed for her continued good health and fulfilment, saying, “As your lifelong companion, I say that I love you more than ever, and am blessed every day by your presence. Your love is a treasure I hold dear.”

Vice President Kashim Shettima also celebrated the First Lady, describing her as “an inestimable mother of the nation” whose grace, compassion, and service have left an indelible mark.

“When the history of this great nation, and in particular President Tinubu’s administration, is written, your name will be inscribed in gold, for you have earned it with your passion, good heart, service, sense of decorum, and strength,” Shettima said.

He praised her Renewed Hope Initiative, citing its impact on women’s empowerment, youth development, education, and support for vulnerable Nigerians.

Mrs Nana Shettima, wife of the Vice President, described the celebrant as a sister, mentor, and friend, commending her for redefining the role of women in Nigerian politics.

“Through your Renewed Hope Initiative, you have blazed a trail of excellence that continues to inspire countless women and young people to pursue their dreams with unwavering determination,” she said.

The First Lady, a three-term senator and former Lagos State First Lady, has long been recognised for her advocacy in women’s health, rural development, and education.

Her 65th milestone was marked with tributes from leaders across the country, who hailed her enduring legacy of service, compassion, and exemplary leadership.
