The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has initiated an investigation into bribery allegations involving N15 million, as claimed by popular social media personality Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky.
The EFCC’s Executive Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, ordered the probe following a viral video in which Bobrisky alleged that some unnamed officers of the commission accepted N15 million to drop money laundering charges against him. The video, shared widely by social media influencer Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, has sparked significant public interest.
In response to the accusations, Olukoyede has put together a team of investigators to examine the claims. A statement issued by Dele Oyewale, the EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, called on both Bobrisky and Otse to appear at the commission’s Lagos office to provide further details and aid the investigation.
The EFCC has assured the public of a thorough and impartial inquiry, with the findings to be disclosed upon the investigation’s completion. “The commission remains committed to upholding transparency and integrity in all matters, and this case will be handled with the utmost diligence,” the statement emphasized.
