Nigeria’s Super Eagles have qualified for the Round of 16 at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations after edging Tunisia 3–2 in a pulsating Group-stage encounter in Morocco on Saturday.

Goals from Victor Osimhen, captain Wilfred Ndidi and Ademola Lookman ensured the three-time African champions progressed from their group with a hard-fought victory.

Osimhen broke the deadlock in the 44th minute, rising to meet a pinpoint cross from Lookman to give Nigeria the lead just before the interval.

The Super Eagles doubled their advantage five minutes after the restart, with Ndidi finishing confidently, once again from an assist by the impressive Lookman.

Lookman then capped a fine individual display by making it 3–0 in the 70th minute, latching onto a pass from Osimhen to put Nigeria firmly in control.

Tunisia, however, staged a late comeback. Talbi pulled one back in the 74th minute before Abdi converted an 87th-minute penalty after Bright Osayi-Samuel was penalised for handball. Despite the late pressure, Nigeria held on to seal the win.

The Super Eagles will now face Uganda in the Round of 16 on Tuesday, with kick-off scheduled for 5:00 pm, as they continue their quest for continental glory.
