Galatasaray star Victor Osimhen has claimed the title of Baller of the Week, dethroning his Super Eagles teammate Ademola Lookman. Osimhen’s exceptional performances on the field have solidified his role as a standout in the Naija Stars Abroad lineup, showcasing his prolific scoring ability.

Lookman, who held the title for two consecutive weeks, was previously recognized for his remarkable performance for Atalanta, netting two goals in a 3-0 victory over Napoli. His contributions helped end Napoli’s unbeaten run and pushed Atalanta to second place in Serie A. Lookman’s strong season record of six goals and four assists has also made him a prominent contender for honors such as the CAF Player of the Year.

However, Osimhen’s recent performances have shifted the spotlight. In a recent clash against Samsunspor, he scored twice, marking his second brace within days after a stellar performance against Tottenham Hotspur in the UEFA Europa League. His consistent scoring has been crucial to Galatasaray’s success and has further cemented his reputation as one of Europe’s top strikers.

Despite Lookman’s impressive contributions to Atalanta’s strong season, Osimhen’s recent form has made him the standout Nigerian talent abroad this week. The friendly rivalry between these two stars underlines the strength of Nigerian football on the global stage, with both players making significant impacts for their respective clubs.

As Lookman’s recent Champions League form fell short against Maduka Okoye’s Udinese, Osimhen’s rise marks another exciting chapter in a promising season for Nigerian players across Europe.
