The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Mr. Sly Ezeokenwa, has expressed strong support for President Bola Tinubu’s recent appointment of Mrs. Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu as the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.

Speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Abuja, Ezeokenwa described the appointment as audacious and laudable, a decision he says reflects Tinubu’s commitment to national progress.

Ezeokenwa, elected as APGA’s National Chairman in 2023 following Chief Victor Oye’s two-term tenure, praised Bianca as an esteemed figure within APGA, noting her significant contributions and her connection to the party’s legacy.

“Bianca is one of the most revered members of the party,” he stated.

“A woman with sterling qualities, she is also the wife of our foremost national leader.

The late Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu remains our spiritual leader because APGA is not just another political party,” he stated.

The chairman commended Tinubu’s approach to forming a strong cabinet, which includes highly qualified technocrats who can help drive the administration’s agenda.

Emphasizing the need for economic recovery, Ezeokenwa stated, “The economy of this country has taken the brunt over the past few years; Nigerians are suffering.

The President himself has acknowledged the pain and struggles of the citizens.

To turn things around, he must go beyond party lines and select credible individuals who have the skills to make a difference.”

Highlighting the role of effective governance in attracting international investments, Ezeokenwa added, “A successful administration will boost Nigeria’s image globally, encouraging foreign investors.

Nigeria should not only be Africa’s leader but strive to rank among the top five global economies.

We have the resources and human capital; I commend the President for this bold, audacious move.”

Addressing internal issues within APGA, Ezeokenwa dismissed rumors of factionalization, describing APGA as a “united, indivisible family.”

He acknowledged challenges but emphasized the party’s resilience.

“What we have are individuals outside APGA attempting to hijack the party.

But APGA will continue to thrive as a dynamic political entity,” he said.

Ezeokenwa also underscored the need for decentralizing Nigeria’s security architecture to address ongoing challenges effectively.

In closing, he reiterated APGA’s commitment to a collaborative national agenda, voicing hope that Tinubu’s administration will lead Nigeria toward growth and stability.
