The Super Eagles confirmed their starting lineup for Monday’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Rwanda, with notable absences due to personal and tactical reasons.

Goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, initially named in the squad, will miss the match following the tragic death of his father.

In addition, star forward Victor Osimhen will also be absent, with the team opting for an alternative attacking setup.

The Super Eagles’ starting XI, as announced by Soar Super Eagles via X, will feature Maduka Okoye in goal, with a defensive line consisting of Bright Osayi-Samuel, Jordan Osho, William Troost-Ekong (captain), and Bruno Onyemaechi.

In midfield, Frank Onyeka, Ismaheel Yusuf, and Tom Dele-Bashiru will provide the balance between defense and attack.

Up front, Simon Moses, Kelechi Iheanacho, and Victor Boniface will lead the charge, with Boniface aiming for his first international goal for Nigeria.

The match against Rwanda’s Amavubi is scheduled for 5 pm (Nigerian time) and will serve as the final Group D fixture in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Although the Super Eagles have already secured their spot in Morocco 2025 and clinched the top position in the group, Head Coach Augustine Eguavoen has emphasized that the team is determined to finish the qualifiers with a win, despite the absence of Nwabali, defender Olaoluwa Aina, and winger Ademola Lookman.
