The Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on the Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA), Aderemi Oseni, announced on Monday that the Federal Government, under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu, is committed to repairing all federal roads across the country. This initiative is part of President Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope Agenda” aimed at alleviating the hardships faced by Nigerians.
Oseni, who represents Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency of Oyo State, made the announcement during a thank-you visit to the Oyo State secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at Oke-Ado, Ibadan.
Addressing the poor state of federal roads nationwide, Oseni urged Nigerians to be patient, noting that the current administration inherited many of the challenges, including dilapidated infrastructure.
“President Tinubu is not the cause of the challenges we are facing, including bad roads across the country. These issues predate his administration,” Oseni stated. “As part of his Renewed Hope Agenda, the President is making determined efforts to repair all federal roads in Nigeria to ease the suffering of the masses.”
During his visit, Oseni also expressed condolences to the party over the recent passing of its former chairman, Isaac Omodewu, and thanked members for their support during his election campaign.
Looking ahead, Oseni called on the party to strengthen its unity and devise a strategy to regain power in the 2027 elections. He also donated N10 million to the APC as operational funds to support the party’s activities.
In response, the acting Chairman of the APC in Oyo State, Olayide Abas, expressed appreciation for Oseni’s visit and praised the lawmaker for his efforts to improve the lives of his constituents.
