Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has ordered the relaxation of the 24-hour curfew imposed on the conflict-hit communities of Ilobu, Ifon-Osun, and Erin-Osun. Effective from Friday, March 28, 2025, the curfew will now run from 2 p.m. to 7 a.m. daily.
In a statement issued by the Governor’s spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, the decision aims to alleviate residents’ hardships while allowing them to attend to essential needs.
Governor Adeleke commended the relative peace restored in the area but expressed concern over reports of a fresh killing, for which the police have made an arrest. He issued a stern warning, stating, “Anybody or group of persons found or caught masterminding any violent act will face the full consequences.”
The governor also instructed the joint security task force to maintain round-the-clock surveillance in the affected communities, emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy for lawlessness. Additionally, he directed the state emergency agency to scale up support services for displaced persons in line with previous directives.
