CBN Appoints 16 New Directors to Key Departments

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has appointed 16 new directors to oversee critical policy, regulatory, and supervisory functions within its operations. Their appointments take effect from March 3.

Among those appointed are Jide-Samuel Avbasowamen as Director of the Information Technology Department, Abdullahi Hamisu as Director of the Banking Services Department, Ojumu Adenike as Director of the Medical Services Department, and Makinde Olanrewaju as Head of the Procurement and Support Services Department.

In the financial sector, Sike Ijeoma has been named Director of the Financial Policy and Regulation Department, Isa-Olatinwo Aisha as Director of the Consumer Protection Department, and Oboh Victor Ugbem as Director of the Monetary Policy Department.

Other key appointments include Nakorji Musa as Director of the Trade and Exchange Department, Yusuf Rakiya as Director of the Payments System Supervision Department, and Vincent Modesola as Director of the Strategy Management and Innovation Department. Additionally, Farouk Muhammad will lead the Reserve Management Department, while Akinwunmi Olubukola Akinniyi takes charge of the Banking Supervision Department.

The appointments are expected to strengthen the CBN’s operational framework and enhance its policy implementation across various financial and regulatory sectors.
