Vice President Kashim Shettima is expected to lead a Federal Government delegation to the burial of the late Emir of Zuru, Alhaji Muhammad Sani Sami.
The burial has been scheduled for today, Friday, August 22, 2025.
Confirming the development, the Kebbi State Commissioner for Information and Culture, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed BK, said the Jana’iza prayer would be held at the Central Juma’at Mosque, Zuru, immediately after the Friday congregational prayers.
Ahead of the Vice President’s visit, a state delegation led by the Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Muhammad Usman, inspected the Zuru Airstrip on Thursday evening.
The inspection was to assess the level of preparations by key stakeholders in readiness to receive top dignitaries flying into Zuru for the burial rites and condolence visits.
The delegation also visited the Central Mosque, venue of the Jana’iza prayer, as part of the final leg of its inspection tour.
