Afrobeats sensation Tiwa Savage is making a much-anticipated comeback with her new album, This One Is Personal, scheduled for release on August 29.
The 13-track project will be her first full-length body of work since 2020’s Celia, marking the end of a five-year break from major releases.
Announcing the album via X on Tuesday, Savage described it as a deeply personal exploration of pain, growth, and resilience. Recorded across Nashville, London, and Lagos, the project features limited collaborations, including UK rapper Skepta and fast-rising Nigerian artiste Taves.
“This album is my story, so I kept the features limited,” Savage explained during a fan Q&A. “I wanted you all to feel me in every song. The few features I chose were very intentional, with people who understood the vision and could add to the message without taking away from its intimacy. It’s less about numbers and more about connection.”
The singer, who has spent the last five years navigating career transitions, motherhood, and self-discovery, noted that the project reflects her personal journey.
Fans have since flooded social media with excitement, engaging the #ThisOneIsPersonal hashtag as Savage continues to share insights into the album’s creation and the stories behind each track.
