As Nigerians celebrate Christmas, President Bola Tinubu, governors, lawmakers, and other leaders have extended their felicitations to Christians across the country, assuring citizens of a brighter future and economic recovery in the coming year.

In his Christmas message on Tuesday, President Tinubu highlighted the essence of the season, emphasizing love, compassion, and unity.

He also expressed sympathy for families experiencing pain and loss in 2024, including those affected by recent tragic events in Ibadan, Okija, and Abuja. The President urged Nigerians to extend kindness to one another, regardless of economic status, and to remain hopeful about the nation’s path to restoration and progress.

Reflecting on the country’s challenges, Tinubu called for prayers for the nation’s security forces and leaders, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to serving the people diligently.

He encouraged Nigerians to embody the spirit of Christmas by fostering peace and unity, which are essential for national development.

Former Vice President and 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, echoed similar sentiments, urging citizens to embrace love, selflessness, and unity.

He reminded Nigerians to find solace in the joy of Christmas despite the hardships they face, attributing the nation’s struggles to leadership issues. Atiku called for collective efforts to overcome these challenges and build a better future.

Governors across the country also delivered goodwill messages, urging citizens to remain hopeful and united.

Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun emphasized optimism, noting that federal initiatives are beginning to yield positive results, signaling a recovering economy.

Similarly, Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Yahaya called for prayers and selflessness, stressing the importance of love, peace, and reconciliation during this festive period.

In Oyo State, Governor Seyi Makinde encouraged residents to celebrate responsibly while remembering those affected by the recent stampede.

He urged vigilance and support for security efforts, highlighting the need for love and compassion during the yuletide season.

Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri underscored the significance of selfless love and sacrifice, urging privileged individuals to support the needy. He expressed optimism that the country’s economic challenges would soon be overcome.

Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang shared similar views, calling for resilience, hope, and generosity as Nigerians work towards a brighter future.

Federal lawmakers also extended their goodwill, emphasizing the values of hope, faith, and unity.

Deputy Senate President Jibrin Barau expressed optimism about the 2025 national budget, describing it as a potential catalyst for economic transformation.

The Southern Senators Forum highlighted the importance of tolerance and diversity in building an inclusive and prosperous nation.

Ministers and former governors joined in the Christmas messages, with Minister of Power Adebayo Adelabu reassuring Nigerians of the government’s commitment to its Renewed Hope Agenda. Adelabu noted progress in the power sector, citing improved electricity supply as evidence of ongoing reforms.

Former Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi reflected on the nation’s resilience, urging citizens to draw inspiration from the season’s message of love and sacrifice.

Across the country, the shared theme of hope, unity, and progress resonated in the leaders’ messages, as they called on Nigerians to remain steadfast and committed to overcoming the nation’s challenges.
