President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed the full implementation of Nigeria’s National Single Window (NSW) project by the first quarter of 2026, describing it as a cornerstone of his administration’s economic reform agenda.
The directive was delivered on Tuesday during the fifth meeting of the NSW Steering Committee, held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. The President was represented at the meeting by his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila.
Gbajabiamila reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to driving economic transformation through digital innovation and trade facilitation reforms.
He noted that, “The National Single Window is a key pillar in the President’s reform agenda, aimed at streamlining trade processes and enhancing Nigeria’s competitiveness.”
The NSW is a flagship initiative of the federal government that seeks to integrate all agencies involved in import and export activities into a unified digital platform. Once fully operational, the system is expected to simplify cross-border trade, attract increased investment, boost trade revenues, and significantly improve transparency in port operations.
By consolidating trade procedures, the platform will help reduce transaction costs, minimize delays, and enhance operational efficiency at Nigeria’s ports.
