President Bola Tinubu, extended his warm congratulations to Mr. Ifejola Arowolo, a distinguished administrator and public health icon, as he celebrated his 80th birthday on Friday.

In a statement issued by his spokesman, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu joined family, friends, and well-wishers in honoring Arowolo, praising his illustrious career in both the public and private health sectors in Nigeria and the United States.

“The President commends Arowolo’s exemplary service as the pioneering Chairman of the National Drug Abuse Committee in Ondo State, as well as his tenure as the former Director of Pharmaceutical Services in the state,” the statement read.

Tinubu also lauded Arowolo for his tireless efforts in combating counterfeit drugs, his unwavering dedication to public service, and his strong values of hard work, integrity, and accountability.

These principles, the President noted, have also been instilled in Arowolo’s children, including Mrs. Olu Verheijen, the President’s Special Adviser on Energy.

Arowolo’s innovative contributions to the healthcare system were also acknowledged, particularly his pioneering role in integrating indigenous Nigerian medicine with Western practices, which has made healthcare more accessible and affordable to many Nigerians.

“Mr. Arowolo is a passionate advocate for education, seeing it as a vital tool for lifting people out of poverty,” President Tinubu remarked.

He further praised Arowolo’s unwavering commitment to civic duty and his principled governance, attributes that have earned him widespread admiration as a disciplined and forthright leader.

In closing, President Tinubu wished the octogenarian continued health, happiness, and fulfillment as he celebrated this significant milestone in his life.
