A three-storey building collapsed early Thursday on Asesi Lane, off Adeniji Adele Road, on Lagos Island, leaving several occupants injured.
The incident, which occurred in the early hours of the day, prompted a swift response from emergency services, including officials from the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA).
Confirming the development, Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, revealed in a Facebook post that four people had so far been rescued from the debris.
“Four persons have been rescued from the rubble. They have been taken to hospital,” Omotoso stated.
Rescue operations are ongoing at the scene, with authorities yet to confirm the total number of occupants or whether any fatalities have occurred.
