In the wake of a destructive rainstorm that left scores of families displaced in Zugurma community, Mashegu Local Government Area of Niger State, Senator Abubakar Sani Bello has donated ₦10 million to support victims of the disaster.

The Senator, who represents Niger North and chairs the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, dispatched a high-level delegation to deliver the financial assistance as part of his ongoing commitment to the welfare of his constituents.

The storm, which swept through the community with devastating force, destroyed homes and farmlands, leaving residents in urgent need of support. Senator Sani Bello’s donation, delivered in cash, aims to cushion the impact of the disaster and help affected families begin the process of rebuilding.

His delegation included Senior Special Assistant Alhaji Ali Qira, Legislative Aide Comrade Mohammed Sani Yahya, Personal Assistant Bashir Agogo, former Commissioner for Education Hajiya Fatima Madugu, and former Special Adviser Hajiya Sa’adatu Bokane.

The team presented the ₦10 million to the Hakimin Zugurma, Alhaji Mohammed Usman Baiwa, in the presence of the Chairman of Mashegu Local Government Council, Alhaji Umar Jibrin Igade, and Hon. Alhassan Isah Mazakuka, Member representing Mashegu in the Niger State House of Assembly.

Delivering Senator Bello’s message, the delegation conveyed his sympathy and solidarity with the people of Zugurma. The Senator described the flood as “deeply unfortunate” and restated his resolve to stand by vulnerable communities across Niger North during times of crisis.

In his remarks, the Hakimi of Zugurma, Alhaji Baiwa, expressed gratitude for the Senator’s timely intervention. He praised Senator Sani Bello’s consistent leadership and support for grassroots communities, calling the gesture “another testament to his genuine concern for the people.”

Senator Abubakar Sani Bello continues to champion people-centered representation, with a focus on delivering real impact across Niger North.
