Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has assured residents of his administration’s unwavering commitment to delivering more democratic dividends and accelerating development across all sectors.
Speaking at the 2025 Lagos State Annual Thanksgiving Service yesterday, themed “Harvest of Thanksgiving”, the governor promised to double efforts to make the state bigger and better in the coming years.
“In Lagos State, we are very mindful of this shared responsibility, and we will redouble our efforts in every sector, setting the pace for the rest of the country,” Sanwo-Olu said. “We are keying into the President’s Renewed Hope agenda, and by synergising our efforts with it, we will ensure that peace, progress, and socio-economic prosperity are guaranteed for the good people of Lagos State.”
The governor acknowledged the challenges posed by ongoing reforms but expressed optimism about the future. He emphasized that the sacrifices made by Nigerians would yield positive outcomes and highlighted Lagos’ improving safety and its growing prominence on the global stage.
Sanwo-Olu also reaffirmed his administration’s determination to address the state’s challenges with renewed vigor in 2025, thanking God for the state’s resilience during turbulent times.
The Thanksgiving Service, the 25th edition organized by the first family in collaboration with the Ministry of Home Affairs, featured prayers for Nigeria’s leadership, including President Bola Tinubu, his family, and the Lagos State government.
Attendees included members of the State Executive Council, the legislature, the judiciary, civil servants, and residents. Gospel artists also ministered during the event, adding a celebratory atmosphere to the occasion.
