A police inspector, identified as Lawal Ibrahim from the Kwali Division, was discovered dead in a hotel room at Palasa Guest Inn, located in the Gwagwalada Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

The tragic incident occurred last Thursday morning following a meeting with a woman, Maryam Abba, whom the inspector reportedly connected with on social media three months earlier.

According to eyewitnesses, Ibrahim and Maryam checked into the hotel on Wednesday evening, where they reportedly engaged in intimate relations. The following morning, at around 6 a.m., the pair reportedly had another round of intimacy, after which the inspector began experiencing labored breathing and became unresponsive.

Maryam, noticing his distress, attempted to revive him by sprinkling water but received no response. She immediately informed the hotel manager, Danlami Palasa, who alerted the Gwagwalada police division.

Officers arrived at the scene and found the inspector’s lifeless body. His remains were taken to the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, where medical personnel confirmed his death.

A police source revealed that several items were recovered from the hotel room, including watermelon, a suspected aphrodisiac, a phone charger, and the deceased officer’s police identity card.

Maryam has since been taken into police custody as investigations into the circumstances surrounding the inspector’s death are ongoing. A senior officer at the Gwagwalada division confirmed the incident, stating that efforts are underway to determine the exact cause of death.
