The Board of Trustees (BOT) of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has urged the National Working Committee (NWC) to convene an urgent National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting to address the ongoing crisis within the party.
Senator Adulphus Wabara, the Chairman of the PDP BOT, made this call during a meeting in Abuja on Thursday.
He also encouraged all individuals invited by the party’s disciplinary committee to present themselves willingly, emphasizing that the party’s authority supersedes that of any individual member.
Wabara noted that the Board of Trustees previously held a crucial meeting with Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara in August, where they discussed the political situation in the state and its implications for the party.
The PDP has been grappling with internal divisions concerning the tenure of acting National Chairman Umar Damagum and the discipline of errant members, leading to a split among party members.
