Elder statesman and former President Olusegun Obasanjo held a closed-door meeting with former Military President Ibrahim Babangida (IBB), former Head of State Abdulsalami Abubakar, and former National Security Adviser Aliyu Gusau in Minna, Niger State. The meeting took place at Babangida’s Hilltop residence on Sunday.
Obasanjo, who had earlier visited Edo State to congratulate Esama of Benin Kingdom, Gabriel Igbinedion, on his 90th birthday, arrived in Minna around 4:15 pm on a chartered flight. He proceeded directly to Babangida’s residence, where Abdulsalami and Gusau were already waiting.
Although the details of the meeting were not disclosed, sources suggest that the discussions may have focused on addressing the escalating banditry and insecurity in Niger State and other regions in Northern Nigeria.
