The National Assembly has reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing youth participation in policy-making and national development through legislative initiatives.

This pledge was highlighted during the inauguration of a modern facility donated by Seyi Tinubu to the House Committee on Youth in Parliament.

The event took place on Mississippi Street, Abuja, and was attended by key stakeholders in governance and youth development.

Olamijuwonlo Alao-Akala, a member of the House of Representatives representing Ogbomoso North, South, and Oriire Federal Constituency in Oyo State, emphasized the significance of the facility. Located in Abuja, the structure features an e-library, a physical library, and a co-working space.

It is designed to support young parliamentarians in their legislative responsibilities while fostering collaboration on youth-oriented initiatives.

The Chairman of the House Committee on Youth in Parliament lauded the project, describing it as a vital step toward advancing youth representation in governance.

The facility is expected to serve as a hub for innovative ideas, youth-focused legislative activities, and stakeholder engagement, further solidifying the National Assembly’s dedication to empowering Nigerian youths.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, also praised the initiative, calling it a transformative addition to youth engagement.

He highlighted its potential to create an enabling environment for young people to strategize and contribute to nation-building through policy discussions.

In his remarks, the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, expressed optimism about the facility’s impact.

He described it as a visionary project that would significantly enhance the legislative process for young lawmakers, underscoring its importance in shaping the future of governance in Nigeria.

The inauguration marks another milestone in the National Assembly’s efforts to integrate youths into decision-making processes, further demonstrating the institution’s resolve to build a more inclusive and progressive legislative framework.
