Luka Modric is set to join AC Milan this summer, following confirmation of his departure from Real Madrid.
The Croatian midfield maestro, who is currently representing the Spanish giants at the FIFA Club World Cup in the United States, is expected to complete his move to the Serie A side once the tournament concludes.
AC Milan director, Igli Tare, confirmed the club’s intention to sign the veteran star, praising Modric’s leadership and ambition.
“We are ready to bring in Luka Modrić, we need new leaders,” Tare stated. “Modrić can be a key player for us and he asked about being competitive, winning titles… we are on it.”
Modric, who won the prestigious Ballon d’Or in 2018, leaves Real Madrid after a decorated career that includes six UEFA Champions League titles and numerous domestic honors.
His move to Milan marks the end of an era at the Santiago Bernabéu and the beginning of a new chapter in Italy’s top flight.
