Danish Forward Chido Obi-Martin Joins Manchester United First Team.
Manchester United has promoted Danish forward Chido Obi-Martin to its first team as their third striker, joining Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Højlund in the squad.
Fabrizio Romano announced on his X account on Wednesday that the 16-year-old is anticipated to receive playing time as the season progresses.
This decision comes in light of the current struggles of the club’s strikers, with Zirkzee managing just one goal in six Premier League matches so far.
Obi-Martin gained attention last November when he scored 10 goals for Arsenal’s U16s in a remarkable 14-3 victory over Liverpool.
Over the past season, the Denmark under-17 international netted a total of 32 goals in 24 youth appearances for Arsenal and has also trained with the first team.
