Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman celebrated his CAF African Player of the Year award in spectacular fashion, scoring a decisive goal for Atalanta in their Serie A clash against Empoli.

The 27-year-old Nigerian forward showcased his skill and composure, helping Atalanta secure an 11th consecutive league victory on Sunday. With the match level at 1-1, Lookman displayed his trademark agility to score his ninth goal of the season, briefly restoring Atalanta’s lead before being substituted. Empoli eventually equalised, ending the game 2-2.

Before the match, Lookman proudly displayed his CAF Player of the Year trophy, signaling his determination to achieve even greater success. Following his performance, he took to social media to express his hunger for more, writing, “Hungrier than ever,” and celebrating the team’s effort with, “Big win.”

Lookman’s stellar form has been pivotal for Atalanta this season, further cementing his status as one of Africa’s top football talents. His consistent displays are a clear warning to rivals of his readiness to deliver on the pitch.

The former Fulham, Everton, and RB Leipzig star joined fellow Super Eagles teammates Victor Osimhen and Ola Aina in making headlines over the weekend. All three players scored for their respective clubs in Italy, Turkey, and England, with Osimhen shining with a brace.

Lookman’s performance highlights his growing influence and underscores why he remains a key figure for both Atalanta and the Super Eagles.
