LeBron James delivered a stellar performance, notching a triple-double as the Los Angeles Lakers bounced back from a rough road trip with a 116-106 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers. The win keeps the Lakers undefeated on their home court this season, thanks in part to some strategic adjustments by head coach Darvin Ham, including the decision to bring D’Angelo Russell off the bench.
Anthony Davis, returning to the starting lineup after missing the previous game against the Memphis Grizzlies, led the Lakers with an impressive 31 points on 11-of-20 shooting, adding nine rebounds and four blocks. LeBron James added to his career accolades with his second triple-double of the season and 114th overall, recording 21 points, 13 assists, and 12 rebounds.
Austin Reaves was another standout, hitting six of his ten 3-point attempts and finishing with 20 points, seven assists, and six rebounds. Russell adapted well to his new bench role, contributing 18 points on 7-of-12 shooting in 25 minutes, along with three assists.
For the 76ers, Jared McCain led with 18 points off the bench, but Philadelphia felt the absence of key players, as All-Star Tyrese Maxey sat out with a hamstring injury and former MVP Joel Embiid missed the game due to a league suspension.
The Lakers will look to extend their home winning streak as they host the Toronto Raptors on Sunday in the second game of their three-game homestand.
