The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, officially welcomed Dr. Abdul-Azeez Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, and his supporters back into the party.

Jandor, who was the 2023 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, announced his return to the APC on Monday, just days after resigning from the PDP on March 3.

His resignation came amid allegations of internal crises, lack of discipline, and betrayal by the party’s leadership.

Jandor, previously a leader of the Lagos4Lagos Movement and a former APC governorship aspirant, had defected to the PDP in 2021.

His return to the APC has been met with enthusiasm from the party’s leadership.

In an exclusive interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Mr. Seye Oladejo, the APC spokesperson in Lagos State, expressed the party’s excitement about Jandor’s decision to rejoin.

“He is welcome home,” Oladejo said.

“We are pleased that he now understands that Lagos State is better and safer under the leadership of the progressives, who have enjoyed the unwavering trust and confidence of our people since the beginning of this administration,” Oladejo added.

Oladejo emphasized that Jandor’s return would offer him ample opportunities to contribute to the growth of the APC and the continued success of the state government.

He also hinted at the possibility of more defections in the near future.

“We believe there is plenty of room for him to play a vital role in advancing the success of our government and the expansion of our party,” Oladejo added.

“We are expecting more defections in the coming days,” he concluded.

Jandor’s shift to the APC marks the culmination of a turbulent period for him within the PDP, where internal conflicts and issues with party discipline were cited as key factors in his departure.
