Kebbi State Governor Approves N75,000 Minimum Wage For Civil Servants

The Governor of Kebbi State Nasir Idris, approved a new minimum wage of 75,000 naira for state civil servants
On Wednesday.

Murtala Usman, the chairman of the Nigerian Labour Congress in Kebbi, confirmed the announcement in an interview with our correspondents.

He remarked, “Mr. Governor has shown that he is with the workers in the state.

We proposed three tables for him.

We proposed 72,000, 73,000, and 75,000 naira, and he decided to go for the 75,000 naira, which shows he is for the workers,” Usman said.

Usman also noted that the governor stated that the new wage will take effect this month, emphasizing, “Salaries should be made available to workers in the next 72 hours.”

In a related development, the leadership of the labour union in Sokoto has urged the state government to act swiftly on implementing the new minimum wage.
