Kano Governor Inaugurates Seven New Commissioners, Six Permanent Secretaries

Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has sworn in seven new commissioners, six permanent secretaries, and 13 special advisers as part of efforts to strengthen governance and drive development in the state.

The swearing-in ceremony, held on Monday at the Government House, Kano, attracted notable dignitaries and supporters of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).

The newly inaugurated commissioners are: Ibrahim Wayya (Information), Shehu Wada Sagagi (Investment, Commerce, and Industry), Dahiru Muhammad Hashim (Environment), Ismail Aliyu Danmaraya (Finance),Gaddafi Shehu (Power and Sustainable Energy), Abdulkadir Abdulsalam (Rural and Community Development) and Nura Iro Maaji (Public Procurement)

Governor Yusuf urged the appointees to demonstrate dedication and uphold the trust placed in them.

“Your appointments were made after a careful selection process to identify capable individuals who can contribute significantly to achieving good governance in Kano.

Our administration remains committed to prioritizing infrastructure, education, health, women and youth empowerment, water supply, and enhanced agriculture,” he said.

The governor also commended the Kano State House of Assembly for its unwavering support in advancing the state’s development.

Speaking on behalf of the appointees, Shehu Wada Sagagi, the Commissioner for Investment, Commerce, and Industry, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve.

“We are deeply honored by this trust and assure you of our unwavering commitment to justifying the confidence reposed in us,” Sagagi pledged.

The appointments reflect Governor Yusuf’s strategic push to ensure effective governance and a renewed focus on the state’s developmental agenda.
