Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, officially accepted the resignation of Major General Muhammad Idris (retd.), the Commissioner for the newly established Ministry of Internal Security and Special Services.
A statement released by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Tofa, on Tuesday, expressed the governor’s deep appreciation for the retired general’s service to the state during his brief tenure.
Governor Yusuf commended Idris for his role in helping to establish the ministry, acknowledging his contributions to its initial operations.
Although the reasons for the resignation were not disclosed, Governor Yusuf extended his best wishes to the former commissioner, praising him as a dedicated public servant and a patriotic Nigerian.
“We thank Major General Muhammad Inuwa Idris (Rtd) for his unwavering commitment and contributions to the development of Kano State, from his military career to his role in public service.
We wish him a peaceful and fulfilling retirement as he transitions into a well-deserved rest,” Yusuf said.
The statement further highlighted that while Idris’s tenure was brief, it was instrumental in laying a strong foundation for the new ministry.
The governor expressed confidence that his successor would build on this foundation and continue the momentum to effectively manage the operations of the Ministry of Internal Security and Special Services.
