The Federal Government has declared Monday, September 16, 2024, as a public holiday in observance of Eid-ul-Mawlid, a celebration marking the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
The announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, through a statement issued by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, on Friday.
In his message, Dr. Tunji-Ojo extended his congratulations to the Muslim Ummah and urged them to use the occasion to pray for lasting peace and progress in Nigeria.
He also called on Muslims and all Nigerians to embrace the values of patience, sacrifice, and resilience during this period.
