Nigerian celebrity chef Hilda Baci has once again written her name in history after Guinness World Records (GWR) confirmed her latest achievement — the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice.

The announcement came on Monday when GWR verified that Baci, in partnership with food brand Gino Nigeria, prepared an astonishing 8,780 kilograms (19,356 pounds) of jollof rice during the Gino World Jollof Festival in Lagos.

Baci shared a seven-minute video on Instagram documenting the tense wait with her family, loved ones, and representatives of Gino Nigeria before receiving the official confirmation call from GWR.

The clip also revealed the celebratory moment when her certificate was displayed and the Gino team erupted in joy at the historic recognition.

The culinary star expressed deep gratitude to her team and supporters, describing the feat as a collective effort made possible through dedication and unity.

She noted that the record was not only hers but also a milestone for Nigeria, Africa, and everyone who values the power of food in bringing people together.

This achievement marks the second time Baci has secured a Guinness World Record title. In May 2023, she became the record holder for the longest cooking marathon by an individual after cooking continuously for 93 hours and 11 minutes, surpassing the previous record of 87 hours and 45 minutes.

Baci has since updated her social media bio to reflect her new status as a two-time Guinness World Record holder, while messages of congratulations continue to pour in from fans, celebrities, and well-wishers across the globe.
