Tickets for the 2025 Glastonbury Festival, one of the world’s most iconic music events, sold out within 35 minutes on Sunday morning. More than 200,000 attendees are expected to descend upon the festival at Worthy Farm in southwest England next June.

Sales opened at 9:00 AM (GMT), and by 9:35 AM, event organizers announced on the social media platform X: “Tickets for Glastonbury 2025 have now sold out. Thanks to everyone who bought one and sorry to those who missed out, on a morning when demand was much higher than supply. There will be a resale of any cancelled or returned tickets in spring 2025.”

The upcoming event, scheduled to run from June 25 to 29, will continue Glastonbury’s legacy of hosting stellar lineups. While the 2024 edition features British-Albanian pop star Dua Lipa and indie rock legends Coldplay as headliners, discussions are reportedly underway to secure acts for next year’s festival.

Since its inception as the Pilton Festival in 1970, Glastonbury has evolved into a cultural phenomenon. With its roots in Britain’s 1960s counterculture and hippie movements, the festival’s first headliner was glam rock band T. Rex. Over the decades, it has become a summer staple, attracting legendary performers such as David Bowie, Paul McCartney, Stormzy, and Elton John, who delivered his final UK performance there in 2023.

The festival, affectionately known as “Glasto,” offers more than just music. Its 3,000 performances span 80 stages, complemented by night-long parties, art installations, and vibrant parades. Tickets for the 2025 edition were priced at £373.50 ($471.50).

Organizers have also announced that the festival will take a hiatus in 2026 to “give the land a rest,” a tradition that reflects Glastonbury’s commitment to sustainability and its rural surroundings.
