A deadly fuel tanker explosion tore through the Dan Magaji area of Zaria, Kaduna State, on Monday morning, leaving several people feared dead and multiple vehicles reduced to ashes.
The incident occurred near Rochas Foundation School when two fuel-laden tankers collided and crashed into two smaller passenger vehicles.
“All the occupants of the passenger vehicles were engulfed in the inferno,” eyewitness Daiyabu Hamisu said, adding that only one person was seen staggering out of the wreckage with severe burns.
Firefighters, Federal Road Safety Corps personnel and police officers arrived promptly at the scene to extinguish the flames and rescue trapped victims.
