The Federal Government has declared Wednesday, December 25; Thursday, December 26; and Wednesday, January 1, 2025, as public holidays to commemorate Christmas, Boxing Day, and New Year festivities.
This announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, in a statement issued on Monday by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Magdalene Ajani.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo extended festive greetings to Nigerians, urging citizens to embrace the values of love, peace, and unity that define the season.
“The Christmas season is a moment for spiritual reflection and national renewal. As we celebrate the birth of Jesus, the Prince of Peace, let us show kindness and extend goodwill to one another, irrespective of our differences,” he stated.
The minister also called on Nigerians to strengthen family and community bonds, fostering harmony that promotes national development.
Reassuring citizens of the government’s commitment, Tunji-Ojo said, “The Federal Government remains steadfast in ensuring peace, security, and prosperity across the nation.”
He expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda would steer the country toward greater prosperity in 2025.
