The Federal Capital Territory Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, announced January 30, 2025, as the deadline for the registration of intending pilgrims for this year’s Hajj exercise.

In a statement issued on Monday, the Board’s spokesperson, Mohammed Aliyu, explained that the new deadline aligns with the adjusted 2025 Hajj calendar released by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).

According to the revised schedule, all state Pilgrims Welfare Boards and Agencies must remit collected payments by February 1, 2025.

“This new deadline was set following adjustments by NAHCON to the 2025 Hajj calendar, directing state Pilgrims Welfare Boards and Agencies to remit all collections by February 1,” Aliyu stated.

The FCT Board also disclosed that over 40% of its Hajj allocation has already been booked since registration commenced in September 2024.

Prospective pilgrims are therefore encouraged to act swiftly to secure their slots.

Aliyu urged intending pilgrims to take advantage of the opportunity by making a minimum deposit of “₦8.4 million” via a bank draft payable to the FCT Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board.

Deposits can be made at the Board’s headquarters in Abuja or any of the six area councils while awaiting the official announcement of the Hajj fare by NAHCON.

“The registration is conducted on a first-come, first-served basis, reflecting the Board’s commitment to fairness in serving FCT residents,” Aliyu added.

Additionally, individuals who made deposits in previous years but could not perform Hajj are required to top up their payments to meet the new minimum deposit by the January 30 deadline.

Aliyu reiterated the Board’s dedication to enhancing service delivery for the 2025 Hajj and called on all intending pilgrims to finalize their registration promptly.

“This is an opportunity to benefit from the Board’s exceptional services in Hajj operations,” he said.

The Board continues to emphasize fairness, transparency, and improved services as it prepares for the upcoming pilgrimage.
