The Minister of Arts, Culture, and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, has extended her warm wishes to Muslims across Nigeria on the occasion of Eid el-Maulud, which marks the birth of the Prophet Muhammad.
In a statement by her Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Nneka Ikem, the minister encouraged Muslims to reflect on the Prophet’s teachings of love, compassion, and unity.
“As we celebrate the birth of the Prophet Muhammad, let us remember the importance of living in harmony with one another and promoting peace in our communities,” Musawa stated.
She also expressed deep sympathy to the people of Borno State, who have been affected by recent floods, as well as to those in Zamfara State who have suffered losses due to a boat accident and additional flooding.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with those who have lost loved ones, homes, and livelihoods in Borno and Zamfara states,” Musawa said.
“We call on Nigerians to support the relief efforts and demonstrate the true spirit of unity and solidarity,” she continued.
The Ministry of Arts, Culture, and the Creative Economy reaffirmed its commitment to promoting Nigeria’s cultural heritage and creative industries, emphasizing the role of the arts in fostering national cohesion and social change.
“As we celebrate Eid el-Maulud, let us harness the power of art, culture, and creativity to inspire hope, resilience, and unity among our people,” the minister added.
