The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 74 individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud in Abuja.
The suspects were apprehended on Monday, June 30, 2025, during a sting operation at Joyous Hotel in the Nyanya area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), following credible intelligence.
Confirming the arrests, EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale said the operation was based on actionable local intelligence linking the suspects to cybercrime activities.
They were arrested on Monday, June 30, 2025, at Joyous Hotel, Nyanya, FCT, following actionable intelligence on their suspected involvement in internet-related offences, Oyewale stated.
Items recovered from the scene include 86 mobile phones, one pistol, and three motorcycles.
They will be charged to court soon,” he added.
The EFCC has intensified its crackdown on cybercrime across the country, with the latest arrests marking a significant step in its ongoing anti-fraud campaign.
