Cole Palmer has been awarded the EA SPORTS Player of the Month for September 2024, as announced on Friday by the official Premier League website.

The 22-year-old Chelsea midfielder dominated the Premier League in September, scoring five goals and providing one assist in just four appearances.

Palmer’s standout moment came during Chelsea’s emphatic 4-2 win over Brighton & Hove Albion, where he made history as the first player to score four goals in the first half of a Premier League match.

His incredible feat, achieved within 21 minutes, highlighted his remarkable finishing ability and composure.

In addition to his record-breaking performance against Brighton, Palmer also contributed an assist in Chelsea’s 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace and netted another goal in their 3-0 victory over West Ham United.

These performances cemented his claim to the Player of the Month award.

This marks Palmer’s second Player of the Month award, with his first coming in April 2024.

His consistency has been evident, winning two of the last three available awards.

He was chosen from an eight-man shortlist after a public vote on the EA SPORTS website was combined with the votes of a panel of football experts.

As Chelsea prepares to face Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday, October 20, Palmer remains the Premier League leader in goal involvements with 11 for the season.

His strong start to October, including an assist in a 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest, only strengthens his case as one of the league’s top performers.

Chelsea FC celebrated Palmer’s achievement on X (formerly Twitter), posting, “It had to be him.

Cole Palmer is the @PremierLeague Player of the Month for September.”

Another post from the club added, “Best get updating this graphic soon.

PL August Goal of the Month; PL hat-trick against Brighton & Hove Albion; England Men’s Player of the Year; and PL September Player of the Month.”

Palmer’s recent accolades extend beyond the Premier League, as he was named the England Men’s Player of the Year for 2024 earlier in the week.

Meanwhile, the Barclays Manager of the Month for September is set to be revealed soon, as Premier League stars continue to receive recognition for their standout performances.
