Samuel Chukwueze played a pivotal role in AC Milan’s 3-1 victory over Monza, leading the Rossoneri to a successful defense of the Silvio Berlusconi Trophy in front of a packed San Siro, Soccernet.ng reports.

Initially starting on the bench, Chukwueze entered the fray at halftime, replacing Belgian winger Alexis Saelemaekers with the score level at 1-1.

Monza had equalized after Milan’s early lead, making the game finely balanced when the Nigerian international took to the field.

In the first half, Milan took the lead through a deflected rabona by Saelemaekers, but Daniel Maldini equalized for Monza before the break.

The second half saw Milan’s substitutes make a decisive impact.

Luka Jovic scored shortly after coming on, and Tijjani Reijnders sealed the win with a spectacular long-range strike.

Chukwueze’s introduction sparked Milan’s attacking play, showcasing his creativity and pace.

He was instrumental in creating a crucial chance for Noah Okafor, who was thwarted only by a brilliant save from Monza’s goalkeeper.

Paulo Fonseca’s lineup featured a blend of seasoned stars like Rafael Leao and new additions such as Alvaro Morata.

However, it was the impact of Chukwueze and other substitutes that turned the game in Milan’s favor.

This victory marks Chukwueze’s second trophy with Milan, following their penalty shootout win over Monza in last season’s Silvio Berlusconi Trophy.

As the new season approaches, Chukwueze and Milan will be focused on achieving success in Serie A, the Coppa Italia, and making a deep run in the Champions League.
