The Sky Blue Stars took control early, with Leonard Ngenge and Ebuka Anthony finding the net in the first half. After the break, Malian striker Adama Goita and Samson Olasupo extended the tally to seal a comprehensive victory for the Ikenne-based side.
The return leg is scheduled for Friday at the Moshood Abiola Sports Arena, Abeokuta, where Remo Stars will aim to finish the job and secure progression to the second round.
Victory over US Zilimadjou would set up a mouth-watering clash against South African champions, Mamelodi Sundowns, in the next stage.
