Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) has paid tribute to three former housemates who have passed away Francisca Owumi, Joseph Ada, and Rico Swavey.
During Monday’s live show, current housemates gathered as images of the late stars were displayed on screen, after which a solemn minute of silence was observed in their honour.
The tribute highlighted Francisca Owumi, the runner-up of BBNaija’s debut season in 2006, who was celebrated for her vibrant, free-spirited personality and passion for dance. She passed away in 2024 after battling an illness.
Joseph “Joe” Ada, also a contestant in the 2006 season, was remembered following his death in May 2023 after health complications.
The show also honoured Rico Swavey (Patrick Fakoya), a housemate from the 2018 “Double Wahala” season, who was known for his creativity and calm presence before his tragic death in a car accident in 2022.
