Bayern Munich are on the verge of signing Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson on loan, according to reports in Germany.
The 24-year-old Senegal international is expected to move to the Bundesliga champions after both clubs reached an agreement, Bild reported on Tuesday, with details later confirmed by BBC Sport.
Jackson’s absence from Chelsea’s squad for their August 22 Premier League clash against West Ham, as well as earlier friendlies against Bayer Leverkusen and AC Milan, has intensified speculation over his future.
The striker has slipped down Mauricio Pochettino’s pecking order following the arrivals of Joao Pedro and Liam Delap, making a transfer increasingly likely.
Jackson, who joined Chelsea from Villarreal, scored 13 goals in 37 appearances last season and is contracted to the London club until 2033.
Across four seasons with Chelsea and Villarreal, he has made 100 appearances, recording 36 goals and 14 assists, with a career tally of 48 wins, 26 draws and 26 defeats.
In the 2024/25 campaign, he contributed 10 goals and five assists in 30 matches for Chelsea, but struggled to cement a guaranteed starting spot.
The move, once finalised, would bolster Bayern Munich’s attacking options as they look to defend their Bundesliga crown and challenge for European honours.
